The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday declared the final results of the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025. And 458 candidates have been recommended for appointment to the engineering posts in various services under the Central government.
According to a press statement from the Commission, the written exam in August and the personality test conducted in October and November are the basis for creating the merit list of applicants.
Civil Engineering also had the maximum number of selections among the four engineering disciplines, 202 candidates were recommended. This was followed by electronics and telecommunication engineering(116), electrical engineering(79) and mechanical engineering(61 candidates).
It added that 26 of the selectees are from the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category.
The government had previously declared 554 openings for the 2025 Engineering Services Examination. These included 251 posts in civil engineering, 134 in electronics and telecommunication, 97 in electrical and 72 in mechanical engineering, which also includes posts reserved for PwBD aspirants.
Candidature of 102 Candidates is Provisional Notice
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has stated that the candidature of the 102 recommended candidates stands as provisional. This means that the final appointment is subject to the verification of the eligibility conditions and other documents. It is necessary for candidates to confirm that all of their documents are correct and complete.
UPSC Keeps a Reserve List of 186 Candidates

A consolidated reserve list of 186 applicants for each of the four engineering specialities has also been released by the UPSC. This reserve list can be used if necessary, in accordance with the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Rules, 2025.

The UPSC ESE 2025 final score can be viewed by candidates on the UPSC website, www.upsc.gov.in.
After the final UPSC result is announced, mark sheets will be uploaded within 15 days.
