The online application process for the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Assistant Commandant Examination 2026, organised by the UPSC, will close tomorrow, 12 March 2026, at 6 PM. Those wanting to be officers in the country’s paramilitary forces can fill in their applications at the UPSC official portal before that.
In the important Central Armed Police Forces—the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSBSB—this recruitment campaign would fill 349 Assistant Commandant positions. The UPSC CAPF written exam is set for July 19, 2026, and it will be the first step in the recruitment process for the officer positions.

Education Requirement: Must be a graduate of a legally recognised or government-established university. Candidates who are in their final year may apply (to be produced in later stages of the selection process).
Age Restrictions: As of August 1, 2026, the age limit should not be less than 20 or greater than 25. Rules-reserved categories will be subject to age relaxation.
Nationality: Indian nationality. According to current regulations, citizens of Bhutan and Nepal are also eligible.

* Click on CAPF Assistant Commandant Examination 2026.
* Complete registration, fill out the application form.
* Upload documents and submit application fees, if any, along with the form.
* Take out a printout of the submitted application form.
To apply for UPSC CAPF AC 2026, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. The age of applicants should generally be between 20 and 25 years, although age relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government rules.
The UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant 2026 written examination is expected to be conducted on 19 July 2026. Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for further selection stages such as the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), medical examination, and interview.
