The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, has launched a registration window for UPESMET 2026, an entrance exam conducted to grant admission to MBA programmes of the university. The application process is online and open to candidates intending to take admission in the 2026 academic session. As per the university, the registration of applicants must be completed by January 20, 2026. No forms will be accepted after the deadline.
Moreover, UPES has notified that candidates are not restricted to only UPESMET. Applicants can pursue an MBA at UPES by submitting scores from a national, level management entrance exam. Interested candidates should adequately check the eligibility criteria and admission instructions before filling out the form.
Students willing to pursue an MBA at UPES can present valid scores of one of the six examinations CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, NMAT, and CMAT to complement UPESMET. Candidates' results in one of the listed tests can be entered into a web form to enhance the application process. On the basis of these scores, it will be possible to issue a direct call for the next round of the admission process according to UPES norms.

After the registration at the portal, an application form has to be filled providing accurate information about oneself and qualifications, and attaching the required files.
The payment for the application should be made online. After the operation is done, it will be useful to save the confirmation page on your device so that you can refer to it later without any doubts.
The minimum eligibility for MBA in UPES for admission is a bachelor degree with 50% marks from a catering university. Some specialised MBA programs have higher cutoffs. In 2026, UPESMET will be held online mode via remote proctoring. Test takers who fulfil the technical requirements can take the test at their location. The examination is scheduled to test the applicants in the fields of quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, logical reasoning, and general knowledge.
Shortlisted candidates are expected to be invited for the next selection rounds after the entrance exam or assessment of national-level test scores. These may include a group discussion and personal interview, depending on the programme and mode of admission. The final selection will be done based on the cumulative performance across all rounds of the admission process.
