The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department (Samaj Kalyan Vibhag) officially commenced the online registration process for the UP Scholarship 2026-27 academic session on August 11, 2026. Eligible students enrolled in Classes 9, 10, 11, and 12 can now access the official UP Scholarship Portal to submit their applications.
This financial assistance program serves students across multiple communities, including General, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Minority categories.
The department has split the submission timelines into distinct phases to manage online traffic and accelerate processing:
Renewal Applicants (Classes 10 & 12): The portal closes early for existing beneficiaries. Students must finalise their registration and submit hard copies to their schools by August 25, 2026.
Fresh Applicants (Classes 9 & 11): First-time applicants have an extended window. The online application portal will remain active until September 21, 2026.
Dashmottar Scholarship (Post-Class 12 / Higher Education): Registration for UG, PG, diploma, and ITI courses will go live next month on September 15, 2026.
State authorities have implemented rigid verification checkpoints involving institutional validation, district inspectors, and the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
Disbursement Timelines
Renewal Scholars: Funds are scheduled to hit bank accounts between October 25 and October 31, 2026.
Fresh Scholars: Following extensive data scrubs, disbursements will roll out between January 25 and January 31, 2027.
Students must execute the following sequence to lodge their application successfully:
Visit Official Website: Navigate directly to the official UP Scholarship Online System.
Complete OTR Registration: Access the student dashboard and fill out the One-Time Registration details.
Fill Out the Application: Carefully input mandatory academic, personal, and banking credentials.
Upload Required Documents: Attach clear copies of your caste certificate, family income statement, and previous mark sheets.
Print and Submit: Download the confirmation document and deliver the physical hard copy to your respective school.
The Social Welfare Department has explicitly stated that all scholarship funds will be distributed using Aadhaar-Based Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The bank account must be in the student’s own name and actively linked with their Aadhaar card. Any mismatch between your school identity records and your Aadhaar profile will result in immediate rejection at the NIC screening stage.
