The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the UGC NET June 2026 exam notification in the last week of April. The exams are to be held in the final week of June.
These national-level examinations are important to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and PhD admissions in Indian universities.

The following criteria are set for applicants for the exam taken.
Applicants must possess a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/Third Gender) at the time of application.
Master's degree students in the final year can apply with provisional admission.
JRF Age Limit: The limit is set at 30 years for the maximum, while for the reserved categories and women, up to 5 years of relaxation provision is available.
Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.
The application fee varies by category, with reduced charges for reserved and special categories.
General/Unreserved: INR 1,150
General-EWS / OBC-NCL: INR 600
For Reserved Category (SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender): INR 325
The official notification is expected in the third week of April 2026, and the admit card is likely to be released in the third week of June 2026. The examination is tentatively scheduled to be held from June 25 to June 30, 2026.
