The Education Recruitment Directorate (ERD), Punjab, has released a short notice announcing the recruitment of 829 new Lecturer Cadre positions, alongside 184 backlog positions, bringing the total vacancy count to 1,013.
According to the official department release, the comprehensive notification detailing subject-wise breakdowns, eligibility criteria, and instructions will be published on June 23, 2026. The online application window will open concurrently on the same date. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their forms directly through the official portal at educationrecruitmentboard.com.

The recruitment drive aims to fill teaching positions across 12 distinct subjects in the Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. The tentative breakdown for the primary subjects includes:
History: 200 posts
Political Science: 118 posts
English: 111 posts
Mathematics: 91 posts
Punjabi: 71 posts
Commerce: 71 posts
Physics: 46 posts
Other Subjects: Hindi, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, and Geography.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree (Post Graduation) in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks, along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from a recognised university. Matric-level Punjabi language proficiency is mandatory.
Age Limit: The age bracket is set between 18 and 37 years. Age relaxations apply to reserved categories as per the Punjab Government rules.
Selection Process: Selection will be strictly merit-based, determined by a state-level written objective examination followed by document verification.
General / OBC Categories: INR 1,500
SC / ST Categories: INR 750
Ex-Servicemen: INR 500
