The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the notification for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 on February 4, 2026. The registration is open from February 4, 2026, to February 24, 2026, till 6.00 pm IST.
Applicants can apply from the Official UPSC Online Portal. The correction window will be open only for 3 days after form submission, and there is no provision for a late fee in the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
Applicants with the following qualifications can apply for the exam.
Freshers applicants must complete the One Time Registration (OTR) to generate a Universal Registration Number (URN).
Face authentication is mandatory before entering the exam hall.
Applicants must upload a scanned copy of three signatures written one below the other on a white sheet.
For General / OBC / EWS (Male): Rs. 100, while for Female / SC / ST / PwBD fee is exempted (Rs. 0). Failure to pay the prescribed fee by the deadline (for non-exempted categories) results in the automatic cancellation of candidature.
For candidates who are paying by cash (SBI Challan), the "Pay by Cash" mode is typically deactivated at 11:59 PM on February 23, 2026 (one day before the final deadline).
Candidates can apply online through the official UPSC website by completing One Time Registration (OTR), filling the application form, uploading documents, and paying the exam fee.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and meet the prescribed age limit as mentioned in the UPSC CSE 2026 notification.
