The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon post the CTET 2026 notice on its website. Candidates can find details here about the application form, registration fees, exam dates, eligibility and other important information.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced that the CTET 2026 exam will be held on February 8, 2026. The CBSE is expected to release the CTET 2026 notification and application form soon on its website, ctet.nic.in. Applicants should read the notification carefully before completing the CTET 2026 application.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) twice a year. The CTET exam for 2026 will be given in person. Based on past patterns, the CTET exam in 2026 should be held in 132 cities across the country, and it will be available in twenty languages.
Those wanting to be teachers need to know that the Supreme Court says they must pass the CTET exam. Also, current and future teachers hired before the RTE Act don't need to take the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) if they have fewer than five years left to work.
The following are the requirements for taking the CTET exam in 2026.
Nationality: Only citizens of India can apply.
Paper 1 (classes 1-5): Applicants need a Class 12 diploma with either 50% or 45% marks, plus a two-year diploma in primary teaching or education, a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education, or a regular bachelor’s degree plus a Bachelor of Education (BEd).
Paper 2 (classes 6-8): Applicants need a graduation degree with either 50% or 40% marks, along with a two-year diploma in primary teaching or a BEd, a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education, or a senior secondary diploma with 50% marks, and they must be in their final year or have passed a B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed.

Candidates should follow these instructions in order to register for the CTET 2026:
1. Visit the official CTET website: ctet.nic.in.
2. Click on Apply under the New Candidate Registration section.
3. Enter the required personal and contact details to register.
4. After finishing registration, use the application number and password to log in.
5. Fill out the CTET application form.
6. Upload scanned copies of a passport-size photo and your signature.
7. Submit the application fee to complete the process.
