NMC Permitted 187 PG Medical Seats For The 2025-26

The NMC has given the addition of 187 more PG medical spots for the academic year 2025-26 after taking into account the appeals of colleges. The total number of PG seats in the concerned institutions has been raised to 589 due to the approvals made during the sessions of November and December 2025.

Specialty-Wise Seat Breakdown

The additional seats have been granted across several MD and MS disciplines: 

• MD Anaesthesiology: 34 seats (bringing the total to 92)

• MD Pediatrics: 29 seats (total 54)

• MD General Medicine: 22 seats (total 69)

• MS Ophthalmology: 17 seats (total 72)

• MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology: 17 seats (total 65)

• MD Microbiology: 14 seats (total 55)

• MS General Surgery: 9 seats (total 20)

• MD Radio Diagnosis: 7 seats (total 22)

• MD Forensic Medicine: 7 seats (total 16)

• Other Specialties: Includes M.Ch Plastic Surgery (3), MD Community Medicine (3), MD Respiratory Medicine (2), MS Orthopaedics (4), and MD Psychiatry (2).
