Here is a rank-wise enumeration of the National Law Universities (NLUs) for CLAT 2026, prepared based on the admission trends of 2025 and 2026, as well as the estimated All India General category ranks required for admission.

Tier 1: Leading National Law Universities (Ranks 1–500)

These are the most prestigious law colleges, and you need to rank within 500 to get admission.

  • NLSIU Bengaluru: AIR 1 – 115

  • NALSAR Hyderabad: AIR 17 – 180

  • WBNUJS Kolkata (BA LLB): AIR 57 – 285

  • NLU Jodhpur: AIR 112 – 385

Tier 2: Established National Law Universities (Ranks 500–1,500)

Tier 3: Emerging and New National Law Universities (Ranks 1,500–2,500+)

These colleges are newer or located in regional hubs, often requiring domicile advantages for better placement. 

  • DSNLU Visakhapatnam: AIR 950 – 2,080

  • NUSRL Ranchi: AIR 860 – 1,900

  • GNLU Silvassa: AIR 750 – 1,820

  • TNNLU Tiruchirappalli: AIR 1,200 – 2,050

  • MNLU Nagpur: AIR 680 – 2,100

  • HPNLU Shimla: AIR 900 – 2,150

  • NLUJA Assam: AIR 1,160 – 1,700

  • DBRANLU Sonepat: AIR 900 – 2,050

  • RPNLU Prayagraj: AIR 1,100 – 1,980

  • NLUT Agartala: AIR 1,800 – 2,250

Important point for reserved categories: The cut-off ranks for OBC, SC, and ST are generally set much higher, and they can reach up to AIR 15,000–30,000 depending on the particular NLU and the state of residence.
