NEET UG Counselling 2026 Registration Begins Tomorrow

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is set to open the online registration window for NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 tomorrow, August 5, 2026. Eligible medical aspirants can access the application portal on the official website, mcc.nic.in.

This central counselling process will govern admissions to the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, Deemed and Central Universities, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), and Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) medical institutions nationwide.

NEET UG 2026 Round 1 Schedule

Aspirants must strictly adhere to the designated timeframes to secure their seat choices:

  • Registration & Fee Payment: August 5-August 12, 2026 (Registration closes at 3:00 PM; payment closes at 6:00 PM)

  • Choice Filling: August 6 - August 13, 2026 (Closes at 11:00 AM)

  • Choice Locking Window: August 12 (4:00 PM) to August 13, 2026 (11:00 AM)

  • Seat Allotment Processing: August 13- August 16, 2026

  • Round 1 Seat Allotment Result: August 17, 2026

  • Physical Reporting to Colleges: August 18- August 22, 2026

Schedules for Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Vacancy

The MCC will conduct a total of four rounds to fill vacant MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing seats. The academic session begins on September 8, 2026.

Note: State Quota counselling for the 85% remaining institutional seats is handled independently by respective state authorities, tentatively beginning on August 13, 2026.

New Counselling Changes Implemented This Year

To ease student travel and administrative delays, MCC has upgraded its structural guidelines:

  • Online Seat Upgradation: Students opting for seat upgradation in successive rounds no longer need to physically report to their Round 1 college. The entire upgrade workflow can be verified and requested online.

  • Online Resignation Portal: Candidates who wish to exit the counselling network can officially resign from their allotted seats directly through the online system.

Essential Documents for Verification

Candidates must upload or carry the following original items during college reporting:

  • NEET UG 2026 Admit Card and Score Card

  • Class 10 and 12 Marks Sheets and Certificates

  • Government-approved Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport)

  • Eight passport-size photographs (matching the NEET application)

  • Online-generated Provisional Allotment Letter

  • Reservation/Category Certificate (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD), if applicable
