NTA will hold JEE Main 2026 Session 1 from January 21 to January 30, 2026. Get the latest updates on JEE Main 2026 registration schedule, information bulletin, exam pattern, syllabus, and more.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon commence the registration process for JEE Main 2026, leading to admission to IITs and other engineering colleges. Through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, the aspiring engineering candidates can fill out the JEE Main 2026 application. NTA has released the JEE Main 2026 exam dates for B.Tech., BArch., and B.Planning programmes.
JEE Main 2026 will be organized in two sessions. According to the official announcement, JEE Main 2026 Session 1 will take place from January 21 to January 30, 2026, while Session 2 will be held from April 1 to April 10, 2026. Candidates can apply for each session separately, and the higher of the two scores will be considered.
NTA has also provided clarifications on a recent advisory about updating important identity documents such as Aadhaar, UDID, and category certificates. The agency clarified that the advisory does not concern exam city allocation.
Candidates will continue to have the option to choose their preferred exam city, despite claims in several reports that exam centres would be assigned based solely on Aadhaar details. The agency is also planning to add more exam cities for JEE Main 2026 to ensure wider accessibility for candidates.
The exam will be held for admissions to the Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs).
Candidates who clear JEE Main 2026 will also be eligible to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
