New Delhi [India], Mar 1 (ANI): Schools across Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed on March 2nd and 3rd following several reports of illegal entry attempts via Pakistani drones across the Line of Control (LoC), as the situation in West Asia continues to develop rapidly.

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has issued an order deferring the opening of schools to 8th standard today, after the winter holiday.

"In the interest of administration and safety of students, it is hereby ordered that all Government and Private Recognised Schools of Kashmir Division shall remain closed on 2nd & 3rd March 2026," it stated in an order.

Earlier in the day, the Indian Army had prevented 2-3 small quadcopters from breaching the airspace on the Line of Control in the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir in the early morning on Sunday.

According to the officials, the quadcopters attempted to enter Indian airspace along the Line of Control between 5:45 and 6:00 in the morning.

Alert Indian Army troops countered the drone entry quickly, forcing them to return, they have stated. Numerous drones have been spotted along the LoC and IB in recent days, so this incident is not unique. To avoid such threats in the future, the Indian Army stepped up its vigilance.

The United States and Israel jointly launched missiles on Iran as part of Operation Roaring Lion and Operation Epic Fury, which heightened tensions in the West Asian region. There were blasts reported in Tehran and other major cities.

Additional Iranian strikes took place in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Washington just as Iranian state media and US President Donald Trump declared that the strikes had killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his daughter, grandchild, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law. Tehran's allegations of attacks on US bases in the region were cited by them (ANI).
