The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has released the official schedule for the 2026 Board Exams across all specified classes. The exams for Class 10 (Matric) and Class 12 (Intermediate) will commence on February 3, 2026.

The JAC Class 10 and 12 board exams for 2026 will be held in two shifts, with theory exams starting in early February, followed by practical examinations. Admit cards will be issued through schools.
Class 10 (Matric): February 3–17, 2026 | Morning shift (9:45 AM–1:00 PM)
Class 12 (Intermediate): February 3–23, 2026 | Afternoon shift (2:00 PM–5:15 PM)
Practical Exams: February 24–March 7, 2026 (both classes)
Admit Cards: Available from January 19, 2026, via the JAC Exam Portal (to be collected from schools)
The council has also finalized the timetable for non-board classes, which will follow an OMR-based pattern.
Class 8: February 24, 2026.
Class 11: February 25 to February 27, 2026.
Class 9: February 28 to March 2, 2026
Beginning with the 2026 academic session, JAC is shifting to a competency-based evaluation system in line with NEP 2020.
Question Types: Given weightage on objective-type questions (MCQs), case studies, and application-based problems to reduce rote learning.
Passing Criteria: 33% marks are required in each subject to pass.
Reading Time: A 15-minute extra period is provided at the start of each exam for students to review the question paper.
Results for the Matric and Intermediate exams are tentatively expected to be announced in April or May 2026. Official notifications and PDF downloads are available on the JAC Official Website.
