The application process for the India Science and Research Fellowship (ISRF) Programme 2025-2026 invites researchers from the neighbouring countries to research in top indian laboratories.
The ISRF program is supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and administered by the Indian National Science Academy (INSA). For more details, applicants must visit the DST Official Website or the INSA official website.
Application opening date is December 31, 2025.
Application Submission Deadline is March 31, 2026.
The applicable criteria are as follows.
Citizens and permanent residents of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
Below 45 years as of March 31, 2026.
Faculty, scientists, and researchers with a PhD, M.Tech, M.Sc, or MBBS and 3–5 years of experience.
PhD scholars registered in their home country are also eligible.
The fellowship can be availed of only once every five years.
Researchers will avail the following benefits after enrolling on the program.
Monthly allowance of INR 50,000 to cover accommodation and medical needs.
Round-trip economy airfare provided.
Visa fee reimbursement included.
One-time contingency grant of INR 10,000 for the fellow.
One-time contingency grant of INR 20,000 for the host scientist/institution.
Apply using the prescribed format on the DST Official Website or the INSA official website.
Submit a brief research proposal.
Upload a Letter of Acceptance from an Indian host supervisor.
Provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your home institution.
Attach copies of your highest degree and a valid passport.
Include two recent refereed journal publications.
