The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) invites online applications for its full-time Master of Technology (M.Tech) programmes for the current academic year. Applicants must clear the GATE exam of the current year. However, IIT graduates with a CGPA/CPI of 8.0 or higher are exempt from the GATE requirement.
GATE-qualified engineering and science graduate students can apply from March 18, 2026, for the domains in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, and Biological Engineering. To apply for admission, visit the official website of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN). For reference, the GATE results will be announced on 19 March 2026.
Academic Qualifications: A 4-year BE/B.Tech/BS or M.Sc in a relevant field is required.
Relaxation & Exemption: SC/ST/PwD candidates require 50% marks (5.0 CGPA/CPI), while IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher are exempt from the mandatory valid GATE score.
Application fees are INR 300 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while INR 150 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
The minimum of 55% marks (5.5 CGPA/CPI) for Gen/OBC/EWS candidates is mandatory. Final year students can apply under the "Early Admit" category until 25 March 2026. The application deadline is 15 April 2026, with shortlisting expected in April 2026. The selection process involves a written test and/or an interview.
Unlike the GATE exam itself, which allows a late registration period, IIT Gandhinagar's MTech application does not have a late fee provision.
