IIT DELHI Invites Applications for SRFP 2026 for UG & PG Students

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi opens applications for its Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP) 2026, which offers research opportunities to UG and PG students under faculty mentorship. 

The program is exclusively for all engineering students except those at IIT-Delhi. The applicants must be among the top 10 rank holders in their respective branch or programme. No registration or tuition fees are required

The application window is open from 6 March 2026 to 03 April 2026 (5:00 PM). The shortlisted candidates' list will be available on the official website till first week of May 2026. The official link to apply is the oldacademics.iitd.ac.in/srf/main.php.

IIT Delhi SRPF Application Timeline

  • Registration Period is 16 March 2026 to 03 April 2026 (5:00 PM).

  • The list of selected candidates is expected to be displayed on the official website during the first week of May 2026.

  • The eight-week residential fellowship will run from 13 May 2026 to 13 July 2026, coinciding with the institute's summer vacation

Eligibility for Undergraduates and Postgraduates:

  • Undergraduate Students: Must have completed at least two years of an engineering degree.

  • Postgraduate Students (M.E./M.Tech): Must have completed at least the first semester with a minimum of 70% marks or 7.0 CGPA.

The shortlisted candidates will be registered as Visiting Students and receive a weekly stipend 

INR 2,000 with free boarding and lodging in IIT Delhi hostels. The reimbursement for sleeper class train fare within India for journeys to and from the institute.
