IISER Kolkata Faculty Recruitment 2026 for 27 Assistant Professor Posts

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER Kolkata) has released its 2026 faculty recruitment notification. Under Advertisement No. IISER-K/DoFA/2026/1, the premier institute, is inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) for 27 regular vacancies at the rank of Assistant Professor (Grade-I and Grade-II).

Eligibility Criteria & Pay Scales For Assistant Professor

• Grade-II (On Contract)

• Education: PhD with a considerable academic record. Designed for fresh PhD holders or early-career researchers demonstrating high-quality publication capabilities.

• Pay Scale: Academic Pay Level-10 (Initial basic pay of INR 70,900/- per month plus applicable allowances).

• Grade-I

• Academics: PhD with a thorough background, plus a minimum of three years of post-PhD experience. Teaching, research, or industrial experience is mandatory.

• Pay Scale: Academic Pay Level-12 (Initial basic pay of INR 1,01,500/- per month plus applicable allowances).
