IIIT Lucknow Records Highest-Ever BTech Placements

The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow (IIIT Lucknow) has shattered previous records by achieving its highest-ever BTech placement packages for the 2025–26 graduating batch, alongside a major transition in its top leadership.

Padma Shri awardee and current IIT Kanpur Director, Professor Manindra Agrawal, has officially assumed additional charge as the Director of IIIT Lucknow. The leadership change comes on the heels of phenomenal campus placement milestones, establishing the institute as a premier hub for engineering talent in India.

Record-Breaking Financial Growth in BTech Placements

Despite challenging global market conditions, IIIT Lucknow’s placement drive witnessed an unprecedented surge across all core financial metrics:

• INR 1 Crore Domestic Offer: Vedant Gore, a final-year BTech student from the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (CSAI) branch, clinched the highest domestic package of INR 1 Crore per Annum (LPA) from data management titan Rubrik.

• Skyrocketing Averages: The average package soared to an impressive INR 40 LPA, climbing from INR 33.71 LPA in the previous academic cycle.

• Massive Median Jump: The institute's median package experienced a historic spike, jumping from INR 26 LPA to INR 41.5 LPA.

• 94% Success Rate: Out of 217 eligible candidates, 204 students successfully secured placements, representing a 94.01% placement rate.

• Elite Global Recruiters: Marquee tech giants and high-frequency trading firms dominated the recruitment roster, including Google, Amazon, Meta, Graviton, Microsoft, Uber, Zomato, and PayPal.

Strategic Leadership Shift: Prof. Manindra Agrawal Takes the Helm

The administrative transition follows the departure of the former director, Professor Arun Mohan Sherry, who has stepped down to take over as the Director of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong.

Following the official handover, Prof. Manindra Agrawal expressed his vision to draft a comprehensive, long-term strategic growth roadmap for IIIT Lucknow.

To effectively balance his dual leadership roles at both IIT Kanpur and IIIT Lucknow, Prof. Agrawal announced that a specialised administrative team will manage the day-to-day operations at the Lucknow campus. He will oversee governance and institutional growth through regular physical site visits and structured remote coordination.
