The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has launched its recruitment drive for 95 Apprentice positions across the North Eastern Region (NER). Engineering professionals and ITI holders can submit their applications online starting today. The application window remains open until July 28, 2026.
This hiring initiative targets local youth across Assam, Tripura, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh. It offers a structured one-year training program to boost technical skills in the aviation sector. Interested candidates can apply via the official government NATS and NAPS portals.
The vacancy structure caters to three primary educational Tiers:
Graduate Apprentices: 31 posts | INR 15,000 monthly stipend
Diploma Apprentices: 31 posts | INR 12,000 monthly stipend
Trade (ITI) Apprentices: 33 posts |INR 9,600 monthly stipend
Stream-wise allocations for Degree and Diploma holders focus on core technical departments:
Civil Engineering: 8 Graduate | 10 Diploma seats
Electrical Engineering: 10 Graduate | 10 Diploma seats
Electronics / IT / Computer Science: 10 Graduate | 6 Diploma seats
Mechanical Engineering: 3 Graduate | 5 Diploma seats
Applicants must verify the following strict criteria before submitting their forms:
Domicile: Only permanent residents of the North Eastern states are eligible.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 26 years old as of July 28, 2026. Age relaxations apply per government norms.
Education Timelines: Only regular Degree, Diploma, or ITI pass-outs from the 2024 batch or later will be considered.
Experience Restriction: Individuals with prior apprentice training or over one year of work experience cannot apply.
The recruitment process requires no application fee. AAI will shortlist applicants based on their academic merit in the qualifying examinations. Final selection follows a mandatory round of personal interviews and document verification.
Successful candidates will secure placements at key regional airports. Training locations include Guwahati, Agartala, Imphal, Shillong, Dimapur, Tezu, Lengpui, and Hollongi.
