The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), commonly known as the MCI Screening Test, is a mandatory licensing exam for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) who completed their medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) at an institution outside India.

• The result PDF contains roll numbers, application IDs, and marks, which can be downloaded as a PDF merit list.

• The passing mark requires students to achieve at least 50% aggregate marks.

• The candidate login page provides individual scorecards, which become accessible approximately one week after the PDF result release.

As a next step, successful candidates need to complete essential verification processes, which lead to their medical registration in India. 

• In-Person Verification: The NBEMS office requires all qualified candidates to conduct biometric and face ID verification processes. 

• Pass Certificate: The physical FMGE Pass Certificate becomes available only after all document verification processes are completed. 

• Medical Registration: The clear-cut pass certificate is mandatory for receiving both provisional and permanent registration through the National Medical Commission (NMC) and State Medical Councils.

Who Is Exempt from FMGE?

Candidates who have completed their medical degree in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand and are officially registered to practice medicine in that country are exempt from appearing for the FMGE.
