CUET UG 2026: NTA Issues Advisory for Aspirants

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released a detailed advisory on December 27, 2025, for the CUET UG 2026 aspirants to assist them in having a hassle-free registration and examination process. CUET UG 2026 registration starts from the last week of February 2026 or the first week of March 2026, tentatively. 

Exam Details with Dates

CUET (UG) 2026 will be held in digital mode across several different languages. 

  • Exam Schedule: May 2026, third week 

  • Languages: 13 languages in India and outside 

  • Mode: Only Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Mandatory Document Updates

To prevent registration rejections, the NTA has recommended that the candidates make the following document updates before the opening of the online application portal. 

  • Aadhaar Card: Should be updated with the correct name, date of birth (matching with the Class 10 certificate), latest photo, and address.

  • Aadhaar Authentication: Registration will get the information automatically from UIDAI. If there is a name mismatch between Aadhaar and Class 10 records, a special option will be available during the application process to resolve it.

  • Category Certificates: Valid and up-to-date certificates for the EWS, SC, ST, and OBC-NCL categories will be needed.

  • UDID Card: Persons with Disabilities (PwD) should always keep their UDID card or disability certificate valid and current. 

Revised Exam Pattern and Syllabus

  • Syllabus Availability: Official subject-wise syllabi are made accessible and can be obtained from the CUET NTA portal.

  • NCERT Basis: The syllabus is exclusively on Class 12 NCERT textbooks; no other sources are allowed.

  • Compulsory Questions: In this year's exam, each section will have only 50 questions as all of them are compulsory; the former option (40 out of 50) is not there anymore.

  • Subject Limits: Candidates can now select a maximum of 05 subjects (cut down from the previous).

  • Fixed Duration: The duration for each subject test will be uniformly set at 60 minutes.
