CSIR CMERI Recruitment 2026 for 27 Technician Vacancies

The CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI) has announced its official recruitment drive for Technician-I (Group-II) roles. The premier research institute is seeking applications from qualified ITI graduates to fill 27 permanent central government positions across multiple trades.

Eligibility Criteria & Age Limits

• Educational Qualification: Applicants must have passed 10th Class / Matriculation with Science subjects (minimum 55% marks). Additionally, candidates must possess an ITI Certificate or a National/State Trade Certificate in a relevant technical field. Those with a 2-year full-time apprenticeship or 3 years of institutional work experience in the trade are also eligible.
  
  
• Age Requirement: The age bracket for applicants is 18 to 28 years as of August 3, 2026. Age relaxations for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and other exempt categories apply as per Government of India norms.

Selection Procedure & Application Fees

Candidates will undergo a two-phase selection process:

1. Trade Test: A practical, qualifying exam to test hands-on technical skills.

2. Written Exam: Shortlisted candidates will sit for a competitive paper covering Mental Ability, General Awareness, English, and Trade subjects.
