Law Aspirants Take Note: CLAT 2026 UG and PG Applications Now Open 

CLAT 2026 Application Window Open: Key Dates, Eligibility, Fee Structure and Documents List. Apply by October 31 on the official site consortiumofnlus.ac.in

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has opened the registration window for CLAT 2026 today, August 1. Interested candidates can now apply for undergraduate and postgraduate law programs by visiting the official website. 

The deadline to apply is October 31 and the exam is scheduled for December 7, 2025. The detailed official notification will be released shortly. It will include important information such as the syllabus, exam pattern, marking scheme, eligibility criteria, application fee and more.

Last year the general category candidates were required to pay an amount of ?4,000 as a fee for filling out the application form whereas the SC, ST, PwD and BPL candidates paid ?3,500. 

In order to become eligible for the CLAT UG 2026 Exam, the student's minimum qualification needs to be Class 12 with at least 45% whereas students in SC, ST or PWD categories need a minimum of 40% marks. 

For the CLAT PG Exam, applicants must hold an LLB degree with a minimum required score is 45% for the General category and 40% for SC, ST and PwD candidates.

How to Register for CLAT 2026

  1. Visit the official CLAT website — consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

  2. Enter your phone number and email to create an account.

  1. You will get an OTP on your given number.

  1. Once the OTP gets verified, set a password as the one you will be using.

  1. After logging in, applicants must carefully fill in the CLAT application form, pay the required application fee and submit the form online.

It's important to enter the names of the candidate and their parents exactly as mentioned in official documents, such as mark sheets, certificates or ID proofs. Any mismatch in personal details may result in disqualification from the admission process.
