The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will post the answer key for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 today at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. This test is for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs. The response sheets for over 90,000 candidates will be accessible along with the answer key.

The provisional key will be uploaded on the official website at 5 pm today. If students have concerns about the questions or answer key, they can submit their objections through the portal from December 10 to December 12 until 5 pm.

This year, the Consortium conducted the CLAT UG and PG entrance exam on December 7 in 156 exam centres across 25 states, 93 cities, and Union Territories (UTs).

The exam attracted 92,344 candidates in which 17% increase over the previous year.  A total of 75,009 candidates applied for CLAT UG 2026, while 17,335 registered for CLAT PG 2026. The male-female ratio is about 0.72:1. Students can submit objections to the answer key and questions on the official website (consortiumofnlus.ac.in) from December 10 to 12.

The CLAT 2026 exam saw strong attendance, with 96.83% of UG applicants and 92.45% of PG applicants participating. The Consortium stated that this increased participation shows students' growing desire to get into India's top National Law Universities (NLUs).

The CLAT marking system gives one mark for each correct answer in both the UG and PG exams, which have 120 multiple-choice questions. Incorrect answers result in a 0.25 mark deduction.

Challengers must pay Rs 1,000 for each question they want to challenge. The Consortium has not yet addressed students' complaints that these fees are too high.
