VITM Recruitment 2026: Notification for Various Posts; Check Eligibility

The Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum (VITM), Bengaluru, releases its 2026 recruitment notification (Advt. No. 02/2026). The premier science museum is inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens to fill 12 permanent regular vacancies across various technical, administrative, and educational cadres. 

The online application window opened on May 18, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their forms until the absolute deadline on June 15, 2026.

Vacancy Breakup and Salary Structure

Selected candidates will receive competitive pay matrices under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) along with standard Central Government allowances. The positions carry an All India transfer liability across VITM units.

  • Education Assistant 'A' (04 Posts): Pay Level-5 (INR 29,200-92,300) | Upper Age: 35 Years.

  • Junior Stenographer (01 Post): Pay Level-4 (INR 25,500-81,100) | Upper Age: 25 Years.

  • Office Assistant (Gr. III) (03 Posts): Pay Level-2 (INR 19,900-63,200) | Upper Age: 25 Years.

  • Technician 'A' (Fitter/Carpenter) (03 Posts): Pay Level-2 (INR 19,900-63,200) | Upper Age: 35 Years.

  • Artist 'A' (01 Post): Pay Level-2 (INR 19,900-63,200) | Upper Age: 35 Years.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Education Assistant 'A': Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (B.Sc.) specialising in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, or Computer Science.

  • Junior Stenographer & Office Assistant: Minimum Higher Secondary (10+2) qualification with required shorthand (80 w.p.m.) or computer typing competencies.

  • Technician & Artist: Matriculation completion alongside an ITI certificate in the respective trade (Fitter/Carpenter) or a Diploma/Certificate in Fine Arts.

 

The selection methodology will consist of a Written Examination followed by a mandatory Skill/Trade Test depending on the specific post. Education Assistant candidates will additionally undergo a short communication skill evaluation. 

An application fee of INR 885.00 is mandatory for General and OBC male applicants. All women candidates, as well as SC, ST, and PwD applicants, are entirely exempt from paying the fee.
