The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the recruitment notification for the Combined Lower Subordinate Services Main Examination 2026 (Advt. No. 07-Exam/2026). The commission aims to fill a total of 2,285 vacancies across 11 key state government departments. The online application process began on May 29, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their forms through the official website until June 18, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the UPSSSC Lower PCS 2026 recruitment, candidates must meet the following baseline requirements:

  • PET Qualification: Candidates must possess a valid scorecard from the UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025. Shortlisting for the main exam will rely heavily on these scores.

  • Academic Qualification: Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university. Certain technical or specialised posts may require specific subject majors.

  • Age Limit: The general age bracket is 21 to 40 years as of July 1, 2026. A lower age limit of 18 years applies to certain roles, such as Centre Superintendent. Standard category-based age relaxations apply to reserved candidates from Uttar Pradesh.

  • Fees: 

    • General / OBC / EWS: INR 25

    • SC / ST: INR 25

    • Divyangjan (PH): ?25

Selection Process and Salary Scale

The selection framework consists of a shortlisting process based on PET 2025 scores, followed by a Main Written Examination and final Document Verification without any personal interview round.

The Main Examination will feature 100 multiple-choice questions with a negative marking penalty of 25% (1/4th mark) for every incorrect answer.

Successful candidates will be recruited into Pay Level 4 and Level 5 matrices under the 7th Pay Commission. This sets the basic pay scale between INR 25,500 and INR 35,400, translating to an estimated monthly in-hand salary range of INR 30,000 to INR 40,000, depending on the post and city posting.
