The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will close the registration window for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) and the Indian Forest Services (IFS) examination 2026 at 6 PM today. It is highly recommended that candidates complete their applications before the cutoff time, as technical difficulties may arise at the last minute on the official website, upsc.gov.in
The notification for both examinations was released on February 4, 2026, and the online application process began the same day at upsconline.nic.in. The official notification states that the Civil Services Examination 2026 will recruit 933 candidates for Central Government positions. The Civil Services and Indian Forest Service recruitment will be conducted using the Common Preliminary Examination.
The preliminary exam is scheduled for May 24, 2026. The Main Examination will start for candidates who pass the first stage on August 21, 2026.
The selection process for both examinations will be conducted in five stages, the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination, the Interview, the Document Verification, and the Medical Examination. Candidates must pass each recruitment stage to progress through the process.
The UPSC will issue e-Admit Cards on the last working day of the week preceding the examination. Candidates who choose a different writer seven days before their exam will receive their e-Admit Card three days before the exam date. All admit cards will be made available exclusively on the official website.
The application charges and admission requirements for UPSC 2026 have been established. According to the UPSC regulations General category and OBC category and EWS category candidates must pay an application fee of Rs 100. The same Rs 100 application fee applies to SC, ST candidates and female applicants. The fee requirement is completely waived for Persons with Disabilities. The application fee must be paid online only.
Candidates must have a graduate degree from a recognised university to meet the eligibility requirements. The minimum age limit is 21 years, while the upper age limit is 32 years. Government regulations permit age relaxation to take effect for reserved categories.

1. Go to upsconline. nic. the official portal.
2. If you have not done so, make sure to finish the One-Time Registration (OTR).
3. After logging in, click on the link for the CSE 2026 or IFS 2026 application.
4. Enter all the required information such as educational, personal and contact details with utmost caution.
5. Upload the necessary photograph, signature, and documents.
6. Make an online payment of the application fee where necessary.
7. After filling out everything, go through it once more before sending the application form.
8. Save and download the confirmation page for later use or reference.
