The University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the application deadline for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
Those who are waiting for approval to provide Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online programs for the 2025–26 school year. This revised deadline applies to programs beginning in February 2026.
After the initial announcement on October 21, 2025, the UGC received appeals from HEIs requesting additional time to finalize their applications. Because of this, the deadline has been pushed back from November 10, 2025, to November 17, 2025.

These institutions are now able to apply for permission to begin or continue their ODL and Online programs for the coming academic year.
