SSC announces 7,948 vacancies for MTS and Havaldar posts in 2025 recruitment drive

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the list of openings for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) recruitment for 2025. The official SSC notice states there are 7,948 openings: 6,078 MTS posts for those aged 18–25, 732 MTS posts for those aged 18–27, and 1,138 Havaldar positions in CBIC and CBN units.

Of these, 3,679 are for the unreserved category, 1,973 for OBCs, 859 for SCs, 621 for STs, 816 for EWS, and 731 for ESM. Around 310 openings are for persons with disabilities (PWD).

The goal of the SSC MTS and Havaldar recruitment is to fill Havaldar and Multi-Tasking Non-Technical Staff positions in various government agencies.

Many MTS positions are in areas with a strong central government presence, like Delhi, Maharashtra, and West Bengal. There are the same number of SSC MTS and Havaldar positions as in previous hiring cycles.

The 2025 recruitment procedure for SSC MTS and Havaldar features two computer-based tests (CBTs). A physical efficiency test (PET) is required for Havaldar applicants. Document verification (DV) will be done by regional offices, based on the merit list for each zone.

CBT session 1 contains questions relating to numerical and mathematical skills, reasoning, and problem-solving. Session 2 assesses general knowledge, English language skills, and reading comprehension.
