Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 notification has been issued by the Government of Assam. Exam is held as the Special Assam TET to address the shortage of teachers in schools of regional language mediums. This TET is for the aspirants who want to teach at the Lower Primary (Class 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6 to 8) Levels. Application procedure will be offline.
The process of application has already begun from 07th January 2026 at the official portal. It is February 7, 2026. Candidate should possess the qualification as required and should be a permanent resident of Assam. This test is an eligibility test only and does not entitle the candidate to a job in teaching.
Special Assam TET important dates
Assam TET 2026 notification was released on 06 January 2026. Online submission of application has begun from 07 January and last date for registration is 07 February 2026. The candidates should apply only through the official websites like sebaonline.org, ssa.assam.gov.in or scert.assam.gov.in.
Application process is similar a same for each group, i.e. you need to register, enter personal & educational details, Upload documents and pay exam fee.

Enter the personal and educational information accurately.
Attach your photo, signature and other necessary documents.
Choose the paper you wish to apply for.

The amount of fee to be paid by General category candidates is Rs 550 per paper. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC and MOBC category have to pay Rs. 450 and candidate with Pwd status need to pay Rs 300. Applicants for Paper I and Paper II are required to pay the fee separately for each paper. Fee will not be refunded once paid.
