Patna University extended the postgraduate admission deadline to August 6, 2025. This helps students who could not apply earlier because their undergraduate results were not available on time. The deadline was previously July 31, 2025, but the university extended it after receiving requests from many students.
Right now, more than 6,000 students have applied. There are 1,803 seats in regular postgraduate programs and 807 seats under self-financed courses. Programs include Political Science, English, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Sociology, and more.
Patna University has stated that PG admissions for 2025 will be based on merit. They will not hold an entrance exam this year. After the application period ends on August 6, 2025, the counselling will start. Seats will be assigned by department, based on merit and student choices.
The entire admission process is online through PU’s website, making it simple for students to apply. The university has established help desks in various departments for students related to document or fee payment.
