The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the exam schedule and opened the online registration portal for the UGC NET June 2026 session. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
The deadline to complete the registration and pay the application fee is tonight, May 20, 2026, at 11:50 PM.
The NTA will conduct the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) across multiple exam centres nationwide.
Application Window: April 29, 2026, to May 20, 2026 (11:50 PM)
Application Correction Window: May 22 to May 24, 2026
City Intimation Slip Release: By 10.06.2026
Admit Card Download: By 15.06.2026
NET UGC 2026 Exam Dates: 22 to 30.06.2026
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree or equivalent with at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/Third Gender categories). Final-year postgraduate students and candidates with a 4-year bachelor's degree (minimum 75% marks) are also eligible to apply provisionally.
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Maximum 30 years as of 1.06.2026 (relaxation applicable for reserved categories).
Assistant Professor & PhD. Admissions: No upper age limit.
Category-wise registration fees must be paid online via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI:
General / Unreserved: INR 1,150
General-EWS / OBC-NCL: INR 600
SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender: INR 325
The NET UGC June 2026 exam will consist of two papers held in a single 3-hour continuous session without a break. The test includes 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for a total of 300 marks. There is no negative marking.
This year, the NTA will conduct the test for 87 subjects, featuring two newly included disciplines: Statistics and Forestry. Candidates are advised to download the updated syllabus from ugcnetonline. in and regularly check the NTA portal for the latest updates.
