The official notification for CUET PG 2026 was released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on the 14th of December, 2025, bringing considerable changes regarding examination logistics and city preferences.
Applicants can visit the official website: https://exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg/ to get the latest updates.
The NTA has made these alterations for CUET PG 2026 for the purpose of increasing the effectiveness, transparency, and fairness of the exam process. The admissions through a single entrance test are made easier, the exam cities and choices are reduced for better management, and security is improved by stricter Aadhaar-based verification.
The number of exam cities has been reduced to 292 from 312 last year.
There are now 276 exam cities in India and 16 international cities, including the UAE, USA, and Germany.
Candidates can choose only two exam cities instead of four.
The selected cities must be based on the candidate’s permanent or present address.
Registration fees have increased by INR 200 for general candidates and INR 1,000 for international students.
Registration period starts on December 14, 2025, and ends on January 14, 2026 (until 11:50 PM).
March 2026 will be the month when the exam will be given as a computerized test.
There are 157 subject papers for the exam.
The timing for each paper is 90 minutes with 75 MCQs.
A maximum of four paper codes can be selected by the candidates.
For each correct answer, 4 marks are added, and for each wrong answer, 1 mark is subtracted.
