The National Institute of Design (NID) Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2026 application closes today, December 1. Those wishing to apply can do so through the official website, admissions.nid.edu. From December 2 to 4, an application correction window will be available.
During this period, applicants can fix errors in their forms. Note that changes to eligibility details, birth date, email, category, and citizenship will not be allowed.
The NID DAT is an entrance exam for the Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Master of Design (MDes) programs. It occurs in two parts: prelims and mains. Candidates must pass the prelims to qualify for the mains exam.
The NID DAT 2026 mains exam will be administered in person at NID campuses, such as NID Ahmedabad, NID Gandhinagar, and NID Bengaluru.
The NID DAT 2026 preliminary exam assesses a candidate's design sense, observational abilities, creative thinking, and communication skills. Part A of the exam includes 19 questions and is worth 25 marks, while Part B has 5 questions and is worth 75 marks.
