The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the information bulletin and notification for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2026. The online application window is now active on the official website, natboard.edu.in. Aspiring medical graduates can submit their applications for admission to various MD, MS, PG Diploma, Post MBBS DNB, and Direct 6-Year DrNB courses.
According to the official schedule, the computer-based entrance examination will be conducted on August 30, 2026. Candidates must complete their mandatory internship by September 30, 2026, to be eligible for the exam. The exam schedule is:
July 1, 2026 (5 PM): Online applications open
July 21, 2026 (11:55 PM): Registration portal closes
July 25–28, 2026: Primary correction window opens
July 31–Aug 10, 2026: Final image edit window active
August 27, 2026: Hall tickets available for download
August 30, 2026: NEET PG exam day
By September 30, 2026: Official results announced
NBEMS has introduced crucial changes to the examination process this year. Notably, the exam pattern has been revised to feature 180 multiple-choice questions divided into five time-bound sections, with each section allocating 42 minutes for 36 questions.
Additionally, the allocation of exam centres will no longer operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Candidates are required to select three test states during registration, and NBEMS will assign cities randomly within those regions. Mandatory Aadhaar authentication has also been integrated into the sign-up process to prevent malpractice. Furthermore, this session marks the final year for PG Diploma admissions before NMC permanently converts these seats into full MD/MS programmes starting in 2027.
