IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi campus is expected to nearly double its student strength to 400 by 2026.

IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi campus is set to expand its student intake in response to growing demand and strategic goals. The move supports the UAE’s focus on innovation, technology, and economic diversification. It also strengthens India-UAE collaboration in world-class higher education.

Key Details Of The Expansion As Of Late 2025

  • Current Strength: The campus currently has 182 students, showing rapid growth since its launch. It started with just 17 students in late 2024.

  • Academic Growth: Expansion is planned through the regular launch of new programs. Each year, one new undergraduate and one new master’s program will be added.

  • New Programs (2025–2026): From August 2025, Chemical Engineering has been introduced. It is added to existing B.Tech programs in Computer Science and Energy Engineering.

  • Curriculum Focus: Courses are designed around the UAE’s national priorities. Key focus areas include AI, sustainability, energy, and smart materials.

  • Admission Pathways: About one-third of seats are filled through JEE (Advanced). The remaining seats are offered through CAET for UAE nationals and long-term residents.

  • Infrastructure: The campus is currently operating from a transit facility in Khalifa City. A permanent and sustainable international campus is under development.

For the academic session 2025–26, IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi now offers three B.Tech programs along with its postgraduate and research courses.
