GATE 2027 Registration Deadline Extended: Apply by October 5 Without Late Fee

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has officially announced that the GATE 2027 registration deadline is extended for regular applicants. Candidates who have not yet submitted their forms now have until October 5, 2026, to complete their applications without paying an additional late fee.

GATE 2027 Registration Deadline Extended: Revised Exam Schedule

Due to the extension, the revised application timeline for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is as follows:

• Regular Application Window (No Late Fee): Open until October 5, 2026

• Extended Application Window (With Late Fee): October 6 to October 12, 2026

• Form Correction Window: October 14 to October 21, 2026

• GATE 2027 Exam Dates: February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027

Steps to Apply Online Before the Extended Deadline

Now that the GATE 2027 registration deadline is extended, candidates can visit the official GOAPS portal to apply by following these steps:

1. Go to the Official Website: Visit gate2027.iitm.ac.in.

2. DigiLocker Authentication: Log in or register using a verified DigiLocker account (unverified accounts are temporarily accepted if you face technical errors).

3. Fill out the Application: Input your academic data, select up to two exam papers, and choose your preferred exam cities.

4.  Upload a digital copy of the photograph, signature, and category certificates.

5. Pay the Fee: Submit the registration fee (INR 1,000 for Female/SC/ST/PwD; INR 2,000 for all others) before October 5.
