GATE 2026-Result to Be Announced on March 19, 2026; Get Updates

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will announce Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) results on March 19 2026. The results of this entrance exam were announced in February. Candidates can access the official GOAPS portal by using their enrollment credentials. 

Candidates can download the scorecards from March 27 to May 31, 2026. If students want to download their scorecard after this period, they have to pay INR 500 as a special charge. These scorecards remain valid for three years for academic admissions. Students must check the Official Information Portal gate2026.iitg.ac.in for the latest updates.

GATE 2026: Important Dates 

Candidates can check the following important dates related to GATE 2026.

  • Result Declaration: March 19, 2026 

  • Free Scorecard Download: March 27-May 31, 2026

  • Paid Scorecard Download: June 1-December 31, 2026, with payable charges of INR 500.

  • Scorecard Validity: 3 Years (Valid until March 2029)

Major Counselling Dates

  • COAP 2026 (IITs & IISc): Registration starts late March. This portal is used to accept or reject offers from various IITs. 

  • CCMT 2026 (NITs, IIITs, GFTIs): Centralised registration starts in May. This handles the entire seat allotment process for these institutes.

  • Expected Seats:  Approximately 13,000 in IITs and around 22,000 in NITs/IIITs/GFTIs.

Applicants can also check the anticipated cutoffs from the major institutions.

  • General Category: around 28 to 37 marks (varies by paper difficulty).

  • Top IIT Admission Score: Generally 700+ for core branches.

  • Top NIT Admission Score: Generally 650+ for popular specialisations.

For COAP 2026, students must check each IIT's official website separately.

The GATE 2026 result will be declared on 19 March 2026 by IIT Guwahati. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results online on the official GATE portal. 
Candidates can check their results by logging in to the GOAPS portal using their enrollment ID or email ID and password. The result will display marks, score, and All India Rank. 
The GATE 2026 scorecard will be available from 27 March 2026, and qualified candidates can download it from the official portal for admission and recruitment purposes.
