GATE 2026 Application Deadline Extended

GATE 2026 Application Deadline Extended to October 6; Register Now 

IIT Guwahati has moved the deadline for GATE 2026 registration to October 6. Interested and qualified applicants can apply through the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

IIT Guwahati manages the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026. It is scheduled for February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The scores from this exam are used for admitting students into ME, MTech, and PhD programs at IITs, IISc, and other Indian universities and colleges.

To register for GATE 2026, candidates will need to use their enrolment ID and password to access the application form. The exam includes 30 different subject papers, and the results are scheduled to be released on March 19, 2026. 

GATE is a national exam designed to assess students' knowledge of undergraduate subjects. It includes engineering, technology, science, business, arts, architecture, and humanities.

GATE 2026 registration is still open until October 9, 2025, but there will be an additional fee.

If you are a woman or a member of the SC, ST, or PwD groups, the application fee is Rs 1,000 for each paper. For everyone else, the cost is Rs 2,000 per paper.

If you register after the deadline, the fee increases. It will then be Rs 1,500 for female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates, and other candidates will pay Rs 2,500.

This year, IIT Guwahati has added Energy Science to the Engineering Sciences (XE) subject. Now, you can pick any two of the eight XE areas.
