National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) declared FMGE results on 29, for the January 2026 session (December 2025 exam).

Results are available on the official NBEMS website. The individual scorecard was released on February 6, 2026.

FMGE 2026: Next Steps for Qualified Candidates

Candidates who have qualified in the FMGE need to complete the certificate verification and registration formalities to start their medical practice or pursue higher studies in India.

  • Pass Certificate: Qualified candidates must collect their FMGE Pass Certificate in person from the NBEMS office after biometric and document verification.

  • Registration: After receiving the pass certificate, candidates can apply for provisional or permanent registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council (SMC) to begin their internship or medical practice across India.

  • NEET PG Eligibility: Clearing the FMGE and completing the mandatory internship make candidates eligible to appear for postgraduate medical entrance exams such as NEET PG.

To obtain your FMGE Pass Certificate, candidates must visit the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) office in person. The certificate is never sent by post or issued to a representative.

Candidates can check their qualifying status through the digitally signed result PDF available on the official NBEMS website. Detailed individual scorecards were released on February 6, 2026, and can be downloaded by logging in to the NBEMS portal using your User ID and Password.

Note:

For the upcoming June 2026 session, the examination is tentatively scheduled for June 28, 2026, with results expected in late July 2026.

The scorecards will remain available for download for six months from the release date, so candidates should save a copy for future reference.

FAQ's
Once the FMGE January 2026 result is published by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), qualified candidates become eligible to apply for provisional registration with the relevant State Medical Council. They must then complete further formalities to start their required internship in India.
Yes. Clearing the FMGE alone does not grant a medical license to practice in India. Foreign medical graduates (FMGs) must undergo a mandatory internship — typically 12 months of rotatory training in an NMC-approved medical college or hospital in India — before they can obtain permanent registration.
After the result, candidates must first collect their FMGE pass certificate (often in person through NBEMS or as notified). Then they apply for provisional registration with a State Medical Council and obtain any required NOCs (No Objection Certificates) to join an internship at an approved hospital or institution. Only after finishing this internship and completing all documentation can they proceed toward full medical registration in India.
