State-run mining giant Coal India Limited (CIL) opens registration for Management Trainee (Mining) positions. The massive Coal India Recruitment 2026 drive aims to fill 276 MT Mining vacancies across its various subsidiaries.
Aspiring engineering graduates can submit their CIL MT application form online. The application window is open from 8 May 2026 until the final deadline on 7 June 2026 (6:00 PM).
In a move to secure top-tier engineering talent, CIL will skip a dedicated computer-based test for this drive. Selection for these coveted PSU jobs through GATE will rely entirely on the merit of the candidate's GATE 2025 Mining Engineering (MN) score.
To satisfy the India Coal MT eligibility criteria, candidates must possess a regular, full-time B.E. or B.Tech degree in Mining Engineering with at least 60% aggregate marks. The upper age limit is capped at 30 years as of 30 April 2026, with standard government relaxations applicable for reserved categories.
High-Paying PSU Jobs: CIL Management Trainee Salary Details
Selected applicants will enter the organisation under the E-1 grade pay scale. The initial India Coal MT salary ranges from INR 60,000 to INR 1,80,000 per month. During the one-year mandatory training period, trainees will draw a basic pay of INR 60,000 alongside standard allowances, making it one of the most lucrative sarkari naukri options for engineering graduates this year.
Candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories must pay a non-refundable CIL online application fee of INR 1,180. SC, ST, PwBD, and permanent employees of Coal Limited are entirely exempt from the fee payment.
Following the closure of the registration window, CIL will release a discipline-wise merit list. Shortlisted candidates will be called directly for document verification and initial medical examinations before receiving final placement orders.
