Raipur | May 2, 2026 - Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has issued a major update for candidates appearing in the State Service (Mains) Examination 2025. As a respite for thousands of aspirants, the commission has officially postponed the exam dates by about three weeks.

The Mains examination will now be held from June 6 to June 9, 2026 instead of May 16, as was the earlier schedule.

What is the reason for the change of dates?

As per official sources, the taking the decision, they referred to the many representations of the candidates. Several students pointed out that the Prelims result declaration and the Mains examination dates were too close, so they would need to study the extensive descriptive syllabus properly. The commission moving the exam to June means that the candidates will get around 15 to 20 days more for the preparation.
