The Bihar Cabinet's decision provides funding for educational programs and security systems, creating two new scholarship programs to support students and enhance the state's safety and cultural facilities.

FAQ's
The Bihar Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, approved 31 major proposals, including significant hikes in student scholarships for the 2025–26 financial year. One of the key decisions was doubling the pre-matric scholarship amounts for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students across various class levels. This move aims to benefit around 27 lakh students in government and recognised schools.
The increased scholarship rates primarily benefit SC and ST students from classes 1 to 10 attending government and recognised schools in Bihar, with the estimated extra financial outlay aimed at supporting their education more effectively.
