The CMAT Exam CMAT Syllabus 2026 is formed by the NTA as per the CMAT guidelines, covering five sections: “Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpreting, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.” For the National Testing Agency, the sections of the CMAT Syllabus 2026 will be AICTE guidelines.

Quantitative Techniques And Data Interpretation

To cover the 20 MCQs about Interpreting Data by Numbers, your numerical and data analytical skills as well as your quantitative skills will be measured. Important topics are as follows:

  • Algebra: Graphing Quadratic and Linear Functions and Inequalities.

  • Arithmetic: Percentage of data in a given set, ratios, ‘time and work’, profit and loss.

  • Caselet analysis, bar charts, pie charts a data in the interpretative vocabulary.

  • Geometry:  Coordinate Geometry.

Preparation Tips: For a quick, effective exam prep, including mental math, Aggarwal’s Quantitative Aptitude will give a solid base. Combine it with regular practice of DI sets.

Logical Reasoning

  • Each of the 20 MCQs for this section requires the use of reasoning skills. This Includes: 

  • Seating arrangements, linear or circular arrangements, are types of Puzzles.

  • Blood relations, coding a message to geography, and syllogisms are types of reasoning.

A number or letter series, as well as analogies, are types of series. Preparation Tips: Focused practice from LR books, including the one by Arun Sharma, RCs, and persistent daily practice in systematic and standard ways will help a lot.

Language Comprehension

In this section, verbal English skills are tested using 20 multiple-choice questions of ‘reading and comprehension’, including: 

  • Comprehension of English passages with business as well as scientific and sociological topics.

  • Linguistic skills cover grammar, the construction of a sentence, offering synonyms and antonyms of the presented words, and jumbling parts of sentences to form in series.

    Preparation Tips: The Hindu, books by Wren and Martin covering grammar, as well as RC passages, will help the learners.

General Awareness

  • This section contains 20 MCQs covering both statics and current knowledge:

  • Static GK: Indian economy, history, and geography.

Innovation & Entrepreneurship

  • This section (20 MCQs) covers business and startups: 

  • Entrepreneurship: Business models, funding, and startup ecosystem.

  • Government schemes, key entrepreneurs, and terminology such as bootstrapping fall under Innovation. Preparation Tip: Business magazines, case studies, and sample papers from NTA. 

Preparation Strategy

The CMAT 2025 syllabus requires 4–6 months of preparation. Begin with a mock test and identify weak areas. Daily, study 4 hours, split per section. Work through 25–30 mock tests with IMS or SuperGrads to achieve fluency in the CMAT syllabus (mastering 100 MCQs in 3 hours). Revise current affairs and basic formulas weekly.
