The final NEET PG seat matrix for the 2025-26 academic year was officially published by the National Medical Commission (NMC) on December 8, 2025. The matrix provides details of the total broad specialty postgraduate seats available in various institutions and the corresponding specialties; it will be considered as the ultimate reference for All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota counseling. Total Seats: The total number of PG medical seats available in India is around 52,173, comprising 29,447 government and 22,726 private seats.
New Seats: 2,315 new broad specialty seats were added in total for this session.
Counseling Status: At the end of December 2025, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued revised matrices for Round 2 allocation, with more than 32,080 total seats available for this round.
