  • Present Charges: Paper and pencil tests range from INR 500 to INR 600; on the other hand, computer-based tests are from INR 800 to INR 1,000.

  • Rationale: The increase in fees is intended to meet the cost of the 19 entrance examinations held under the CET Cell, which are getting expensive.

  • Execution: After government approval, the new fees will be applicable when registrations are opened in late December 2025 or January 2026.

Aspirants must cross-check the official MHT-CET website for accurate fee structure and other application information once the application procedure is activated.

FAQ's
Yes — the CET Cell has proposed increasing registration fees by ₹150–₹250 starting from the 2026 admission cycle.
Previously, for pen‑and‑paper mode, fees were roughly ₹500–₹600, and for computer‑based tests (CBT) around ₹800–₹1,000, depending on the course.
After revision, for example, a general‑category student applying for PCM (engineering) might pay around ₹1,200–₹1,250, while reserved‑category may pay around ₹1,000–₹1,050 (for PCB / reserved quotas).
According to officials, rising operational costs — including administering computer‑based tests, managing exam logistics, manpower, and technology support — have increased. The fee hike is meant to cover those increased expenses.
