The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are launching a special cross-campus mobility system for students. To be eligible for this program, students must be enrolled at one of the 23 IITs.

The "cross-campus" mobility program is an internal exchange for full-time students. However, professionals can join the IIT system through Executive or Web-Enabled Programs. The details are available at the IIT System Portal and the IIT Council website.

FAQ's
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are introducing a cross-campus exchange programme that will allow students to take approved courses or spend a semester at another IIT campus. Credits earned at the host campus will be transferred back to the student’s home institute.
The programme is primarily designed for undergraduate students — especially those seeking specialised electives, research opportunities, or academic experiences not available at their home campus. Up to about 5% of students may participate initially.
IITs are aligning curricula and academic calendars so that courses taken at any IIT can be officially credited at a student’s parent institute. This creates greater flexibility, interdisciplinary learning, and broader course access across the IIT system
