The department stated that through this portal parents can submit their admission applications according to eligibility requirements while they can monitor the complete admission procedure which occurs in an open and scheduled fashion.
The Delhi government has launched an online admission portal for candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Group (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories seeking entry-level admission in private unaided recognised schools for the academic year 2026-27. The Directorate of Education announced in a circular published on Friday that the application period will begin on Saturday and end on March 16.
Parents can use the portal to submit digital applications that meet eligibility requirements and view all details of the admission process in a timely and transparent manner.
The Right to Education Act of 2009 requires all private unaided recognised schools, except minority institutions, to reserve 25% of their first entry-level seats. These reserved seats provide the only entry points for EWS, DG, and CWSN students living within the designated geographic area.
The education department confirmed that admissions under these categories will be conducted through a fully computerised online system. The department announced that it will allocate seats using a draw of lots method to ensure equal treatment and transparent selection procedures.
