Applications for the BSc (Hons) Nursing entrance examination at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have recorded a staggering 1,000% jump over the last five years. 

According to official statistics revealed through a Right to Information (RTI) query, a record 1,90,740 candidates applied for the August 2026 session, compared to just 16,485 applicants back in 2021.

This massive surge is mirrored in the BSc Allied & Healthcare Courses, which received 1,17,033 applications for the same session, marking an 18-fold increase from the 6,878 applications recorded five years ago.
